Question: How can we use product variations? We can see product type, but not sure how it works, it doesn't seem to be the same.
Answer:
Unfortunately product types are not supported at the moment in the Commerce module (if you mean like different sizes, colors, etc.).
Product types are only used for specifying details for products. They are also used in a Store search block.
The commerce module will be updated in the future. We are planning to add support of product types as well.
